User conversion
User conversion function enables managers to choose to modify metadata type (User type) for a selected user, it is required. Here, the feature empowers admins and managers to designate a specific user type (Metadata type) for conversion, accompanied by the mandatory addition of a comment. Users can also choose to merge the selected user with another, facilitating the addition of entitlements or attributes to the target user from a user.
To use the feature, follow the instructions below.
- Go to selfService > View Direct Reports.
Click the
button and this will open a user conversion dialog window.
The user conversion process relies on a Groovy script for validation and conversion logic. Managers can access the relevant Groovy script through the webconsole by navigating to Groovy manager > Search /user-conversion/UserTypeConversion.groovy.
