Authentication

OpenIAM supports multiple authentication options including:

  • Password based authentication (Default)
  • Directory based authentication
  • Certificate based authentication
  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) using a one time passcode (OTP) over SMS, e-mail, IVR
  • MFA using the OpenIAM mobile application
  • MFA using a FIDO2 device
  • Social authentication

In addition to the various types of authentication, OpenIAM also supports adaptive authentication rules, which can be used to create authentication workflows.

For provididng a required authentication worflow, the user can configure parameters and steps as needed satisfying the business processess and provide security and decent range of flexibility. The authentication functionality found in OpenIAM and how it can be configured is in details described in Authentication Guide.
