This section provides an overview about the capabilities and configuration options available in the OpenIAM Access Gateway (aka Reverse Proxy). The Access Gateway helps to improve security in the OpenIAM platform as well as provide the ability the configure SSO to legacy applications; application that do support an SSO standard such as SAML, oAuth or OpenID Connect (OIDC).
To the enable SSO into these application, the Access Gateway provide the following core capabilities:

|Header injection||Access Gateway can set headers, cookies, and URL parameters|
|URL Rewriting||Access Gateway can rewrite URLs to allow applications to proxy correctly|
