# Connector configuration

How OpenIAM connectors integrate with target systems to provision and reconcile identities and entitlements, and where to configure each one.

Connectors integrate OpenIAM with your target systems — directories, databases, SaaS applications, and HR sources — so it can provision, update, and reconcile identities and their entitlements. OpenIAM ships a broad set of out-of-the-box connectors; where none fits, you can build your own with the Groovy Script connector.

Use the sidebar to browse every connector, or start with the areas below.

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Connector parameters</strong></td><td>The common configuration parameters shared across connectors.</td><td><a href="/connector-configuration/2-configparam.md">Connector parameters</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Microsoft application connectors</strong></td><td>Active Directory, Entra ID/O365, Exchange, SQL Server, Teams, and more — the PowerShell-based connector family.</td><td><a href="/connector-configuration/microsoft.md">Microsoft application connectors</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Groovy Script connector</strong></td><td>Build a custom connector for an application that has no pre-built one.</td><td><a href="/connector-configuration/scriptconnector.md">Groovy Script connector</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Provisioning operations troubleshooting</strong></td><td>Diagnose and resolve connector provisioning issues.</td><td><a href="/connector-configuration/4-troubleshootingconnector.md">Provisioning operations troubleshooting</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

Beyond these, OpenIAM includes connectors for **databases** (JDBC, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server), **directories** (LDAP, FreeIPA), and a wide range of **SaaS and HR systems** (Salesforce, Workday, Google Workspace, SuccessFactors, ADP, and many others). See the sidebar for the complete, current list.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.openiam.com/connector-configuration/connectorconfig.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
